Get into it!
“Mom, I love stickers. They’re so fun. I just love sticking them everywhere! They make me so happy.”
My fifteen-year-old and I were recently snuggling on the couch when she just had to hop up immediately and show me her newest stickers.
Maybe you had sticker albums filled with Hello Kitty stickers as a kid? Oh, you didn’t grow up in the '80s...sorry about that. Yeah, stickers were a thing then and continue to be a thing now. I mean there is more than one sticker club that you can join where they’ll send you monthly stickers! And yeah, so maybe I'm crossing my fingers and hoping someday someone will surprise me with a one-year subscription.
Oh my, am I off-topic now. All of this sticker talk is pointing to the fact that folks love stickers! Kids and teens and adults alike.
We use the liturgical calendar in our tradition, and we start every Children's Chapel with the StoryMakers. Liturgical Calendar as a short little reminder of where we are in the year and why. We love it! Kids are learning and retaining their church year; they're learning why the banners change and are starting to understand the meaning of our seasons. It is wonderful!
But I took it one step further and asked myself: What if they had the liturgical calendar with them at home? Yes, it became obvious to me this was a must. And since we already established that everyone loves stickers, I put the two together…
Enter our liturgical year stickers! Because the hologram is extra shiny, we went with that, too. I ordered a 3.25x3.25 sticker from our favorite sticker store, and in the new year, we will share our newest stickers with our crew.
You can purchase your liturgical wheel calendar from StoryMakers here. I put mine into a Canva round sticker template and voila! Liturgical Year Stickers. It may not be the one-year subscription I dreamt of in the 80’s, but it IS a year-round sticker! FUN + FUN.
