The playbook is an entire adventure condensed into a script. Playbooks are meant to be used to help kids retell each adventure at home or in church.

How to Guide Your StoryMakers

Invite children to become StoryMakers and to use their imaginations to enter God's story. Use the visual art to warm up, then dive into the play. The rest of each chapter is designed to be a space to respond to the story.
Pro Tip: Use puppets or costumes to engage kids’ imaginations in the story.

Every chapter includes six parts: vibrant visual art, a Bible story retold as a play, thoughts to ponder, fun facts, social-emotional processing, and creative activities.
Remember: Kids are diverse learners and may like some sections and not others—and that is okay!

Each week, be sure to provide the tools that kids will need to get creative during the activity at the end of each chapter. Each zine includes a list of tools, which are kept simple to ease the load of teaching.
Use the Guide to follow along and help your StoryMakers enter each story.

Play alongside your StoryMakers. Then invite your children to jump into character by imagining themselves in the story. Be sure to illuminate the fun facts, and ask kids to share their social-emotional responses.
Pro Tip: If the grown-ups can play and have fun, chances are the kids will too!

At the end of each adventure, ask your kids to share the zine by performing the story as a play or shadow puppet show. Create more ways for kids and grown-ups to connect around God's big story—this is where the magic happens!
